Explaining return-to-office mandates

Some people have avoided referring to the changes as a “return to office” and instead branded them as a move toward “flexible, intentional working,” for example, because they are aware that employees may be dissatisfied with them.

However, since it is now easier to replace an employee than it was at the height of the hiring crisis, this gentle corporate messaging has become less important as the worker-friendly labor market continues to deteriorate.

Cooper asserts that employees are aware of this as well.
