The exhaustion of choice

Most of the time, when we think of burnout, we think of working 12-hour days, responding to messages on Slack long after we clock out, and finishing a day job only to start a side business right away.

However, experts refer to the phenomenon of “decision fatigue” as a different cause of burnout in a situation like this one.

Although the news is constantly shifting, “information is constant:It’s just a lot of information, whether it’s about the pandemic itself, things you should do, schedules for your kids, or how to work best from home, says Boston-based psychologist Janna Koretz.
