‘We all want control’

According to Katleen De Stobbeleir, a professor of leadership and coaching at Vlerick Business School in Belgium, two distinct leadership styles have emerged as a result of the transition to remote work.

Unfortunately, neither is encouraging.One method involves managers disconnecting from their employees who work from home or even forgetting about them, causing employees to feel alone or alienated;The other style is completely different:micromanagers.

According to De Stobbeleir, “they’re constantly checking up on employees, and even pushing them to come back to the office.”
