‘Snowflakes in a blizzard’

Even though choosing an unconventional surname for a child is becoming more and more common, doing so still comes with some challenges.

Wallaert, a behavioral scientist, put his findings into practice when he named his son, who is now six years old.

He and his wife came to the conclusion that it would make sense to use her surname so that the family name would continue because he had two nephews who shared his surname and she was the only child.
