Experts concur that coping with external reactions is a common obstacle for those who adopt gender-neutral parenting, given the debate over its ethics and effectiveness.
According to parenting author Siever, “gender-neutral parenting is still only done by relatively few people, and they still receive almost as much pushback as in the early 2010s.
“They assert that “people on the outside will still most likely sort every child into the “boy” or “girl” box on every occasion, because the idea of treating people differently based on gender is just so fundamentally baked into our society.”
