The motherhood paradox

Sophie Brock, a motherhood-studies sociologist in Sydney, Australia, and the host of the podcast The Good Enough Mother, states, “Maternal ambivalence is about embracing the ‘and’.”As mothers, we face a lot of paradoxes, and ambivalence is saying, “I actually feel both.

“Consider the statement, “I want to spend every moment with my child, and I cannot spend another minute with her.”I can’t stand the way my life has changed, and I’m so thankful my child is here.

I want to be the best mother I can be, but how much my identity has changed makes me so angry.or even “I love my child very much, but at the same time, I also hate him.”
