An ideal – not a norm
The “natural” birth, in which nothing goes wrong and no one has to do anything, is still very rare. For instance, according to data compiled by the CDC for the year 2020, nearly a third of all births involved an induction of labor.
A further third involved caesarean sections (C-sections).Home births, which are frequently regarded as the ultimate form of “natural” labor, only accounted for 1% of all births.
However, for many birthing parents whose “positive” approach places an emphasis on natural birth, labors do not always go according to plan, which can have repercussions.
