Emotional intelligence
The quality of a person’s gut instincts may be influenced by their overall emotional intelligence (EI), according to the most recent research. We might also be able to improve our intuitive decision-making by learning to increase our emotional intelligence.
A series of questions that measure, for instance, people’s capacity to identify the emotions expressed in the faces of others and their capacity to predict the changes in someone’s mood based on their circumstances are used by psychologists to assess EI.
People’s EI scores and their performance on the Iowa Gambling Task were recently compared by Jeremy Yip, an assistant professor of management at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
