The promise of batteries that come from trees

A major Finnish paper manufacturer realized that the world was changing eight years ago.Paper had begun a steady decline due, among other things, to the rise of digital media, a decline in office printing, and the declining popularity of postal mail.

“One of the largest private forest owners in the world” is how the Finnish company Stora Enso describes itself.

As a result, it has a lot of trees, which it uses to make things like paper, packaging, and wood products. It now wants to produce batteries for electric vehicles that can be fully charged in just eight minutes.
