Science writers visit MIT’s fusion experiment
The Alcator C-Mod tokamak’s control room at the MIT Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) was as lively on the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend as it is on a typical weekday.
However, rather than being occupied by researchers collecting the most recent fusion experiment data, the space was occupied by over thirty science writers and public information officers gaining insight into the state of global fusion research at the present time and the possibilities for the future.
The enthusiastic group was in Cambridge for this year’s Knight Science Journalism program’s annual meeting of the National Association of Science Writers and the Council for the Advancement of Science Writing, ScienceWriters2015.
