“Futurizing” undergraduate teaching

His novel approach to classroom instruction can be seen in the two courses that he has transformed:22.01, “Introduction to Nuclear Engineering and Ionizing Radiation,” and 22.033, “Nuclear Systems Design.”

One year after receiving his PhD from NSE, Short began teaching the design course during his postdoctoral fellowship in 2011.He was encouraged to follow the standard format during his time as a postdoc and, beginning in 2013, as a junior faculty member.
