Growing demand
Even though such programs are ingrained in the culture of MIT, the report says that the Institute is unable to meet the current demand for them, either in terms of physical facilities or financing for things like prototyping facilities and entrepreneurial project support.
According to the report, more opportunities for MIT’s innovators to interact with global communities and ways to facilitate collaborations between schools and departments are also clearly desired.
Murray asserts, “We need to become better at recognizing and responding to the kinds of global challenges that exist.”By creating the appropriate organizations and policies to ensure their impact, we must ensure that MIT’s solutions actually reach the people who need them.
