A legacy of innovation
The title of the preliminary report, “The MIT Innovation Initiative:Maintaining and Extending an Innovation Legacy,” it is noted:MIT will always be known for its primary focus on research and education.However, innovation is increasingly included in our mission.
The report adds that MIT’s upcoming Innovation Initiative is geared toward “providing a forum and a framework for enhancing the Institute’s innovation engine in ways that accelerate our community’s ability to transform brilliant ideas and fundamental research into positive and substantive social and economic impact.
“”A series of steps to achieve these objectives are outlined in the report;Some could be put into action right away, while others will need more research and discussion to get the details right.
