Report details steps needed to accelerate innovation at MIT
Since the Institute’s founding more than 150 years ago, innovation in service of society has been at the center of the Institute’s mission.In the lead-up to the launch of an MIT Innovation Initiative, a preliminary report is now proposing a series of actions aimed at strengthening MIT’s innovation culture.
These actions include recommending a collection of resources, programs, and facilities to speed up and improve the speed with which significant innovations can be implemented in everyday life around the world.
The co-directors of the Innovation Initiative were in charge of compiling the report:Fiona Murray, the William Porter Professor of Entrepreneurship, and Vladimir Bulovic, the Fariborz Maseeh Professor of Emerging Technology.In the MIT Sloan School of Management and the School of Engineering, respectively, the two professors serve as associate deans for innovation.
