Students attend three workshops in April and May before traveling abroad to learn more about innovation ecosystem frameworks developed by MIT researchers like Murray;The David Sarnoff Professor of Management, Scott Stern;and Bill Aulet, managing director of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship and senior lecturer at MIT Sloan.
These frameworks are developed in greater depth by Murray and Budden in a class they teach on entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Students learn how the iDiplomat program uses interviews and other methods to collect innovation-focused data, such as metrics on university patent output, government policies and programs, and venture capital resources, in these workshops.
