Training MIT’s “Innovation Diplomats”
David Dellal, a mechanical engineering student at MIT, studied the innovation ecosystem in France for a good portion of his summer in Paris.
Dellal conducted interviews with academics, corporate managers, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists while networking at various city innovation events under the direction of the Innovation Diplomats, or “iDiplomats,” program, which was established by the MIT Innovation Initiative.
The experience, according to Dellal, opened his eyes, among other things, to the laws governing innovation, startup culture, and how government policies affect entrepreneurs as an aspiring entrepreneur. You really get a sense of how everything fits together,” asserts Dellal, a junior at MIT.
