Global classroom-in-action
The pandemic brought to light an ongoing difficulty regarding how the School of Architecture and Planning can provide a hybrid learning experience for a professional audience through mentorships and apprenticeships, despite its progress in innovation, entrepreneurship, and smart city restructuring in this collaboration with the node.
Training in architecture and urban design places a significant emphasis on the design studio culture of collective learning, which is vastly distinct from home-based solo learning.Typically, this learning begins with a visit to the actual location:to gain firsthand engagement experience, conduct surveys, conduct interviews, and meet and interact with locals.
The teaching team must curate and piece together fragments in order to imitate refreshing local perspectives through tailored exercises that use online interactions and team collaboration under the experimentation of a hybrid format.
