Helping 3D printing reach its potential
A manufacturer of supercomputers sent VulcanForms designs for a processor cooling component. The titanium part, which had dozens of tiny tunnels, was so complicated that only additive manufacturing could make it.
As The New York Times detailed, VulcanForms returned with a section two days after the fact.In addition, VulcanForms has produced components for contractors in the aerospace and defense industries, industrial tooling, tire molds, and medical implants.
Feldmann believes that technological advancement is being driven in a variety of sectors by innovations made possible by additive manufacturing.Feldmann asserts, “I don’t think there will be orthopedic implants in the future that aren’t LPBF-printed.”
