Technicism

Technicism typically refers to an excessive reliance on technology or overconfidence in its benefits to society.Technicism, taken to its extreme, is the belief that humanity will eventually be able to control everything through technology.

To put it another way, technology will one day enable humans to control the future and solve all issues. Some, like Monsma, link these concepts to the denial of religion’s status as a higher moral authority[20]. Technicism, on the other hand, is a criticism of the widely held belief that more recent, more advanced technology is “better.”For instance, computers made more recently are faster than older computers, and cars made more recently have more features and use less gas than older cars.

Future technological advancements are not considered critically because current technologies are generally regarded as beneficial. This results in what appears to be a blind acceptance of technological advancement.
